Kersting's Cycle Center & The World of Motorcycles Museum
Kersting's Cycle Center sits between the tiny Indiana towns, North Judson and Winamac, about 110 miles north of Indianapolis and 80 miles southeast of Chicago. "We're in the country, so it's us and horses, Harleys, and hogs," said Jim Kersting. Kersting's Cycle Center is located 4 miles South of North Judson, Indiana on highway 39. It is easy to find, and always a scenic ride or drive from anywhere. It truly is the little shop in the middle of nowhere, where wonderful folks come from everywhere.

Jim & Nella Kersting wed in 1960, and they began work on their dealerships new home. "We built it out of cement blocks, and it was 28 feet wide and 70 feet long," Jim says. "The first 30 feet on the west end was our living quarters." Jim and Nella's two eldest children, Sandy and Randy, were born during the seven years the Kersting's lived in that building. The youngest, Jason, was born after they moved into a little home in North Judson.
Over a homecooked meal in 1962, Jim & Nella agreed to become a dealer for Harley-Davidson® and the rest was history. Things have changed a little since then. Kersting's Cycle Center, lovingly known as "the shop," has grown to 27,000 sq. ft. of showroom and service space. We carry Harley-Davidson®, Yamaha®, & American Landmaster®, plus a full selection of used vehicles. Our service departments are staffed with factory trained technicians specializing in Harley-Davidson® and Yamaha®, and we are fully stocked with geniune Harley-Davidson® parts and Motorclothes®, we are fully endorsed by the State of Indiana to provide a motorcycle training course, and we even have a museum!
Kersting's needed every bit of space for Jim's motorcycle and car collection so The World of Motorcycles Museum became reality in 2003. Jim said, "No duplications. They all run, too, even the ones up in the rafters. All I have to do is put in gas and oil. I don't want them if they don't run." Admission to the museum is just $5.00 and it's a great way to spend the afternoon cruising through yester year.
